KMU.DIGITAL implementation funding: driving digitalization forward with government support
In an increasingly digitalized world, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are faced with the challenge of adapting their business processes and models to the new circumstances. The Austrian funding program KMU.DIGITAL supports this transformation through targeted consulting and financing offers. After completing a funded KMU.DIGITAL consultation, SMEs now have the opportunity to receive financial support for the implementation of digitalization projects.
Funding after consultation: Up to 6,000 euros for digitization projects
After successfully completing KMU.DIGITAL consulting, which can also come from the last round of tenders (since May 2022), Austrian SMEs can apply for grants for investments in digitization projects. It is necessary to prove that the consultation has been completed in order to be able to claim the funding. The maximum funding amount per project and company is 6,000 euros, with the grant covering up to 30% of the eligible costs.
Which investments are eligible?
The funding relates to new investments that require capitalisation, both material and intangible, as well as to related services provided by external providers
that are directly related to the digitization project. Costs for software licenses, including cloud solutions, can also be funded, but only for a maximum period of 12 months. The eligible project volume must be at least 2,000 euros and may not exceed the upper limit of 30,000 euros.Overview of eligible digitization measures
The KMU.DIGITAL programme covers a wide range of digitalisation measures, which are divided into four main areas:
-
Business models & processes: This includes the development, introduction and improvement of products, services, processes and business models through digital applications. This could, for example, include the implementation of a CRM system or investments in data integration.
-
E-commerce & online marketing: The focus here is on the digitalization of sales and distribution processes. This includes the introduction and further development of digital B2B or B2C applications as well as the implementation of innovative, data-based online marketing strategies.
-
IT & cybersecurity: Securing the IT infrastructure is essential. Measures to introduce or improve IT and cybersecurity processes as well as the establishment of information security management in the company are supported.
-
Digital administration: Efficiency improvements through digital administration solutions are also eligible for funding. These include measures such as the introduction of a digital signature or the implementation of electronic procurement processes.
